Respiratory arrest and nipple twist, house episode?

On last weeks episode of house, dr. house went into respiratory arrest while sleeping. one of the other doctors came and twisted dr. houses nipples and he immeadiately awoke and began breathing on his own. the show is usually medically accurate. does anyone know why this would have worked?Respiratory arrest and nipple twist, house episode?
It is called a sterum rub and it is pain responce test. That area is one of the most sensative areas on your body. If you dont respond to that( it can be known to bruse) you are either dead or in a comaRespiratory arrest and nipple twist, house episode?
It would be an issue of how long house was in respiratory arrest, but in reality it wouldn't really work. At the point that you stop breathing your body is compensating on one thing and one thing only, the essentials; getting oxygen to your brain, and oxygen to your heart. It also depends on the cause of respiratory arrest. In house's case it was due to the methadone he was taking. Methadone is a strong CNS depressant, therefore if you take it in excess it inhibits your ability to breathe, it stops your heart, and it would ultimately lead to your demise. Indeed sternum rubs are used to obtain a level of consciousness it would absolutely not bring someone out of respiratory arrest.
I have had a patient go into respiratory arrest and when I dropped the head of the stretcher down fast to do CPR, she gasped and woke up.





So I guess it's possible, but a little weird.
Not sure of the technical answer, but House is a perve, so he probably enjoyed it enough to come out of resp arrest!
